Grady County can boast of another state championship. Grady County's 7 & 8 year old pitching machine all-star baseball team “The Syrup City Smashers” claimed the 7 & 8 year old state championship last weekend in Cordele. According to Grady County Recreation Director Phil Gregory, to the best of his knowledge, it's the first state title for the Grady County Recreation Department.I was honored when one of the coaches of the soon-to-be-famous Syrup City Smashers asked me to photograph pictures of their winning team. We had our photo session last night and I must say, it's hard to believe that these boys are so talented AND handsome all at the same time. Thanks for having me out... keep up the hard work!
